because it's cool

When my son promoted from the 8th grade all he wanted was an Ocarina...

So we found him one. He plays it all the time, and I just love it. I think he is really good, and he practices often.

I wish this boy realized how amazing he is and how much he amazes me everyday.  Anything he puts his mind to, he just knocks it out of the park.  I am so proud of him.

I love his passion and heart and character.  What a lucky mom I am.

Any way here are some ocarina snip-its..  It's a cool little instrument..  I unfortunately don't have the best video recorder, so the sound is a little feedbacky..

A friend made a comment today that got me thinking. (dangerous I know) So, I was wondering, (if ya'll wouldn't mind chiming in) at what age your kids either did or will do the following activities... ok so survey says..... How old was/ or will you child be when you let them.... play outside with no parental supervision- sleep over at a friend's house - wear make-up - have a bed time later than 7:30 - go on a date - there are no right or wrong answers here, just curious.  Everyone is different and what works for one may not work for another, so no answers will be judged.. I am just wondering where I fall in the averages :)

It never seems to fail. I go shopping.. doesn't matter where.. just out shopping. Having myself a grand ol' time, whether it be shopping for groceries or things a lot more fun than that, shopping. Shopping is great, until.... I leave the confines of the store/mall etc, and head to the parking lot only to have NO clue WHAT-SO-EVER where my fricken frackin car is!! NONE! No idea at all, good thing I have a green mini-van, cause THOSE aren't common! So then I embark on the mission of trying to find my car. I try the nonchalant approach at first, strolling with purpose down an isle as if I know exactly where I am going. This process is generally complicated by a car following me to get "my spot", so then I have to feign forgetfulness, "OOPS, (looking around frantically) must have left something in the store."
