Black Friday

Time to get up at 4:00 a.m.
Wait in line for an hour
fight the crowds
the wait in line two hours to check out
all in the name of deals...

So I got up bright and early this morning at the crack of 8:00, laid in bed for about 30 minutes, then threw myself together, went and got Angie. Then we were off to..

We got some AWESOME flannel for 1.49$ a yard. Then it was off to the movies, we saw Twilight for the second time with the lovely Emmy.

Somewhere along the way I picked up a screw in my tire so we went to get it fixed and Angie and I wandered around Target while my tire was repaired. It was amazingly not at all crowded.

On the way home we picked up some worms for Archie and then came home. I made lasagna, took one over to Emmy's family, and got to get all glassy eyed at the most amazing lovely sweetest baby in the world.

Now we are chilling, kids watching a movie. All in all a very low key, non crowded, lackadaisical "Black Friday".

Hi & glad you had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was awesome. Fed 28 people... friends & family from just about every branch of the family tree...and then some. It was super-fun. And I'm with you on the shopping thing. Although I was totally bummed that we didn't shop together on Black Friday. We've at least window-shopped the last couple years together. Now our weekend is winding down. I had the whole week off and LOVED IT! Tomorrow is church & I think we'll go see Santa at the mall. Avoid the long lines by going early in the season. :) Got the tree up but it still needs Samuel-friendly decorations added. Love ya!

A friend made a comment today that got me thinking. (dangerous I know) So, I was wondering, (if ya'll wouldn't mind chiming in) at what age your kids either did or will do the following activities... ok so survey says..... How old was/ or will you child be when you let them.... play outside with no parental supervision- sleep over at a friend's house - wear make-up - have a bed time later than 7:30 - go on a date - there are no right or wrong answers here, just curious.  Everyone is different and what works for one may not work for another, so no answers will be judged.. I am just wondering where I fall in the averages :)

It never seems to fail. I go shopping.. doesn't matter where.. just out shopping. Having myself a grand ol' time, whether it be shopping for groceries or things a lot more fun than that, shopping. Shopping is great, until.... I leave the confines of the store/mall etc, and head to the parking lot only to have NO clue WHAT-SO-EVER where my fricken frackin car is!! NONE! No idea at all, good thing I have a green mini-van, cause THOSE aren't common! So then I embark on the mission of trying to find my car. I try the nonchalant approach at first, strolling with purpose down an isle as if I know exactly where I am going. This process is generally complicated by a car following me to get "my spot", so then I have to feign forgetfulness, "OOPS, (looking around frantically) must have left something in the store."
