It's apparently Christmas time..

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... (Except for the weather, but ya know)

I note this due to the frantic holiday shoppers,
the blaring Christmas music wafting through stores,
Santa, ho ho hoing, from his mall igloo,
the salvation army bell ringers.

Yes yes, signs of Christmas are everywhere.

Even though we will not be home on Christmas day this year, my kids REALLY REALLY wanted to decorate for Christmas. So I decide we would decorate a little bit anyway.

I am not quite there yet, but we did get "ye ol' Christmas tree" up. :)



We will put some decorations on it tomorrow..








ok VERY few decorations on it tomorrow.. but hey even "Charlie Brown" Christmas trees need some lovin. :)

hehe that's what happens when your hubby is deployed. The duct tape tree has the right stand now, so all is well. We are goign minimal this year, that's why we have the tiny tree. We won't be home for Christmas, but the kids wanted to decorate, so I am just putting up a little. However it kinda goes with our "minimal" theme this Christmas. No big fancy gifts, kinda getting back to the heart of what is Christmas. Kind straying from the stores, and the commercialism, all the "keeping up with the Jones" messages spewed this time of year.. back to the basics. So my tiny tree is kind of fitting.

A friend made a comment today that got me thinking. (dangerous I know) So, I was wondering, (if ya'll wouldn't mind chiming in) at what age your kids either did or will do the following activities... ok so survey says..... How old was/ or will you child be when you let them.... play outside with no parental supervision- sleep over at a friend's house - wear make-up - have a bed time later than 7:30 - go on a date - there are no right or wrong answers here, just curious.  Everyone is different and what works for one may not work for another, so no answers will be judged.. I am just wondering where I fall in the averages :)

It never seems to fail. I go shopping.. doesn't matter where.. just out shopping. Having myself a grand ol' time, whether it be shopping for groceries or things a lot more fun than that, shopping. Shopping is great, until.... I leave the confines of the store/mall etc, and head to the parking lot only to have NO clue WHAT-SO-EVER where my fricken frackin car is!! NONE! No idea at all, good thing I have a green mini-van, cause THOSE aren't common! So then I embark on the mission of trying to find my car. I try the nonchalant approach at first, strolling with purpose down an isle as if I know exactly where I am going. This process is generally complicated by a car following me to get "my spot", so then I have to feign forgetfulness, "OOPS, (looking around frantically) must have left something in the store."
